Tamil Nadu Driving Licence PVC Card: what you get
A PVC print of your driving licence, made from the file you upload. We print it as it is. We do not edit, correct or change any detail. We are not the transport department and we do not issue or change documents. This is a convenience copy of your own licence. It is not a new, renewed or duplicate licence.
Tamil Nadu is moving to digital licences
LiveLaw reported on 12 September 2026 that the Tamil Nadu government announced a facility to download driving licences digitally on the day a person completes the driving test, and RCs on the date of vehicle registration, proposed from 15 September. The report says the Madras High Court refused to stay the proposal on 11 September and issued notice on a petition against it. Other reports gave 13 September as the start date and different details, so check with the Tamil Nadu Transport Department for the current position. If you receive your licence as a digital file, you can upload it here for a card-size print.
Licences issued in Tamil Nadu usually begin with the state code TN, followed by the RTO code, the year of issue and a serial number. Check that the whole number on your file is clear and complete.
Which file gives the best print?
- A DigiLocker or mParivahan PDF (best). It keeps the text, photo and QR code sharp at card size.
- A flat scan of your licence. Use 300 dpi or higher with all four edges visible. At card size that is about 1011 x 638 pixels.
- Not a screenshot or an angled phone photo. Glare and tilt cannot be removed, and we do not retouch files.
Applying or renewing?
We print the licence you already hold. We do not take applications, renewals, duplicate requests or status checks. Do those on the Parivahan Sarathi portal or at your Tamil Nadu RTO. Once your licence is issued or renewed, upload the new file and we will print it.
Check these before you order
- We do not print on chip cards. If your licence has a chip, only the chip image is printed.
- Read the name, date of birth, licence number and vehicle classes on your file against your original. We cannot correct a mistake after printing.
- A printed card is a convenience copy. Ask whoever needs to see it what they will accept, and keep the original or your digital copy as well.
